Walter Edward Smith was born in Q2 1894 in Wetherby, Yorkshire

He enlisted in 9th Battalion, Kings Royal Rifle Corps on 23rd November 1915 at the age of 21yrs and 9 months and was originally posted to Helmsley in N.Yorks.

He died 27th March 1918
His death is Commemorated in Pozierres Memorial Panel 61-64
