He married Alice nee Backhouse (b 1881 in Garforth) on 22nd April 1905 at St Mary’s Garforth. Alice’s Father was Nathan Backhouse (quarryman)
They had a son Nathan W. (b. 1908 in Garforth) & daughter Annie Mary W. (b. 1910 in Garforth)
1911 Living in three room dwelling in Marshall Row Garforth. Thomas was a Coal Miner Hewer. By 1911 they had had three children one of whom had died.

He enlisted in West Yorkshire Regiment

Then transfered to 193rd Company Infantry Labour Co – Reg No. 115334
Thomas died of his wounds (gas) on 26th September 1917.

His address at death was 16 Poplar Avenue, Garforth
