He was born in 1896 in Windy Nook Co Durham.
Also there was his father, 43 year old Thomas born in Hetton le Hole Co Durham who was a Coal Miner Hewer and mother 36 year old Annie born in Garforth.
His siblings were 16 year old Elsie born in Barwick in Elmet, 14 year old Herbert Sidney a Coal miner – Pit Top born in Pelaw Co Durham, Eight year old Gladys born in Hetton Le Hole, Six year old Edith and four year Emily both born in Hetton le Hole and one year old Edna born in Garforth.
In 1911 15 year old Leonard was working as a Coal Miner Driver underground.He was living in Poplar Avenue,Garforth.
He served with the 49th Battalion Machine Gun Corps Infantry Division.
Harry was killed 1st November 1918 – only 10 days before Armistice Day.
He is commemorated in the Vis-en-Artois Memorial, Haucourt Departement du Pas-de-Calais Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France
